There are 10 studios opening along the Art Trail on 30-31 August 2025. And entry is free, so no tickets needed there.

Train track becomes cycle and walk way
We have a cluster of studios in Colinton and another cluster in Juniper Green. To walk between these villages takes from 20-30 minutes. The Balerno line railway has not been available since the 1960s, so train is no longer an option. However, the rail track was replaced with a splendid walkway along the Water of Leith.
The walkway is also excellent for cycling. If you were in a hurry, you could take the Rickshaw electric bike service.
This is planned to run between Colinton Pitstop Cafe and Juniper Green. Our volunteer driver has completed the induction training. He is available to transport up to two people at a time along the Water of Leith walkway during the Art Trail weekend.

No tickets are needed for the Rickshaw service either. But we need to know whether there is interest. So, tell your friends about it and let us know over the next few days. You can comment where you see this post. Or contact us through our website.
The rickshaw e-bike is generously provided by Colinton Community e-Bikes, as part of the South West Edinburgh 20 Minute Neighbourhoods.
Lothian Buses day ticket
If you decide that bus is your best mode of transport, Day Tickets can save you a lot. Ask the bus driver if you want to buy a paper ticket valid for the day across all Lothian buses. They cost £5.50 for the day if you insist on a paper ticket. If you are a real bargain hunter, just tap your contactless bank card to pay. No need to say a word; “Tap, Tap, Cap” will automatically limit your spend to £5 per day. This saves you an additional 50p over the paper ticket!
Volunteers

We could do with some volunteers. We need help manning the Information Centre at the Pit Stop Cafe in Spylaw Park, Colinton. We plan to give out our printed brochures, maps and prize draw entry sheets. This is for the two days of the Art Trail, but you can volunteer for just a shift or two. Contact us if you’d like to help.
The printed matter can also be downloaded from our website.
Support us
We need your help to get over the line with our Crowdfunder. It’s not what you think. We have already reached our funding target. But there is a condition to us receiving the match funding from Creative Scotland National Lottery. We have to reach 25 individual doners. You could really help us by giving just £1 to push us closer to 25 doners. Could it be you who gets us there? We just need 3 more (and it does not count if you have already donated to us). You give us £1, we get £500 from Creative Scotland!
