Anne Gatherar

Anne Gatherar Ceramics is inspired by natural forms and landscapes and the ceramic pieces clearly show a love of the outdoors and a connection to nature.

The potters wheel is used to create domestic work, including mugs and bowls. Hand-building techniques are often used in sculptural forms and work is fired to 1270 degrees Celsius in an electric kiln. Glazes are developed and mixed in the studio and create unique surface textures reminiscent of rocks and natural surfaces.

Studied at Edinburgh College of Art and taught ceramics in both colleges and schools. Earlier years were spent in Glasgow in a communal WASPS studio and work is now created in a garden studio.

Work is sold yearly at Potfest in Scotland at Scone Palace in Perth and via a few small galleries as well as by direct contact.

Venue:
22 Woodhall Terrace, Juniper Green, Edinburgh, EH14 5BR

Accessibility:
Yes, but not easy, as red pebble driveway is tricky to get a wheelchair over and the lawn may also be tricky. We will have people who are happy to help make access possible.
