Gary is a Scottish artist from Edinburgh, now based in the Scottish Borders. His current practice is specifically landscape painting and illustration.

He has been a practising artist since 2009, after a long break from painting through the 1990s and early 2000s when creative output was mainly photography, music and restoration.

After several career ventures, he finally returned to study in 2013, gaining a BA in painting at Edinburgh College of Art in 2019, and an MFA in illustration at ECA in 2021.

He has a studio at the Glen estate near Innerleithen, moving there from Marchmont House studios (Hugo Burge) in June 2025.
