Gill is an elected member of the Society of Scottish Artists and a professional member of Visual Arts Scotland. Her work has been reviewed in The Times and the Scotsman. It appears in many prestigious collections including that of The Duke of Buccleuch and the Earl of Dalkeith. She is currently Vice President of the Society of Scottish Artists.
Gill has developed a unique technique mixing beeswax with highly detailed pencil drawing and layers of metal and other precious, elemental materials. This gives the figures she draws a sculptural feel, as though they are carved in wood and fixed in time.
The work layers emotion and meaning into carefully crafted compositions. These are not portraits, instead they reflect our own internal worlds. They draw on centuries of tradition and our knowledge of religious iconography but reinvent it to express modern concerns.
