Jennie Loudon

Obsessed with textiles from an early age, Jennie has now been creating, exhibiting and selling these (slightly strange) textile creatures for over 30 years. Most are loosely based on human form though often also have bird or animal characteristics. They are sewn by hand and machine, incorporating new and recycled fabrics, using many textile techniques and can also include repurposed objects.

Most are jointed so they can be posed but they are designed for adult collectors and are not suitable for small children or robust play.

Commissions are welcome and past commissions have included dolls for use in storytelling, dolls incorporating special fabrics, dolls to represent particular people (several wedding couples) and larger dolls for themed events.

Jennie has been exhibiting and selling textile work in galleries and through fairs since 1989, throughout the UK and has had work selected for exhibition in UK, Europe and America.
