Lynda studied architecture at Edinburgh College of Art and worked as an architect. She later set out to achieve her ambition to become an artist. Her subject matter reflects her earlier career as an architect and mainly focusses on modernist architecture, urban landscapes and coastal settlements. She travels widely, always with a sketch book.
Most work begins with multi-media sketching on site before developing images and ideas in the studio through further drawings, painting in various media, printmaking and artist book making. Sometimes she paints in oils en plein air.
She works mainly in printmaking – screenprinting, monoprinting and some relief printing. Often reject prints are incorporated into collaged work or used as material for artist books.
