We warmly welcome professional artists and makers working locally to apply to join the POSt Art Trail 2026.

About the art trail
The aim of Pentlands Open Studios (POSt) art trail is to connect with both the local community and the broader public through an annual open studio art trail. Also, we hope the forming of the POSt artist collective will better connect local artists currently working in isolation.
The open studio venues form a curated programme. We would like of the order 15 venues this year. Studios must be located within the following village areas on the Water of Leith: Colinton, Juniper Green, Currie and Balerno.
Studio open hours are 10am-4pm on both Saturday and Sunday 15 and 16 August 2026. All artists are expected to have their venues open during these times. This ensures that visitors can travel freely between venues. They will not be disappointed.
For the event to succeed, marketing must be well executed. The website will be further developed with a page for each participating artist. There will be a printed leaflet which will also be available in digital form. The leaflet will summarise the venues and show a map. It will help visitors navigate between them. It will use the Water of Leith walkway where possible. Details of public transport will also be provided.
Press releases and social media posts will be made at appropriate times. Participating artists are expected to make their own social media posts and support ours with likes, shares and comments.
