Sandra Vick

Sandra Vick is a Scottish oil painter and art tutor based at the foot of the Pentland Hills. Her work explores the deep connection people have with the landscape. She draws inspiration from the shapes, textures, and geology of the hills around her. Sandra often begins with outdoor drawings. She uses them as the basis for oil paintings. These paintings reflect the layers of natural and human history within the land. She enjoys experimenting with materials and techniques to express mood and place, capturing both stillness and movement. Alongside her painting, she runs children’s art classes that focus on building confidence through creativity. Sandra also runs a homeware business featuring her distinctive bird designs, but her painting practice—rooted in observation, experimentation, and a love of the landscape—remains at the heart of all she does.
