Sandra Vick

Sandra Vick is a painter based at the foot of the Pentland Hills near Edinburgh. She studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art, where she received a scholarship for postgraduate study. Drawn to the living landscape, her work explores horizon silhouettes, land textures, and the geology of the Pentlands, alongside the stories embedded in the names of hills, glens, and lochs.

Working on site allows her to experiment with form, light, and structure, while studio work in watercolour, acrylic, and oil explores colour, texture, and atmosphere. She works in both paintings and artist’s books, creating a dialogue between observation and interpretation, capturing a place’s presence, history, and human narratives.

Her work is held in public and private collections across the UK and internationally, inviting viewers to look closely and reflect on their connection to the Scottish landscape.
