Sue’s work scrutinises our natural and built environments focusing on sculptural forms, shapes and related stories. The genesis of Sue’s work are outlines and structures which then provoke further research in to the history, folklore and current narratives of the area. The resulting work is bound by simplified, abstracted perspectives and imaginative depictions of a given location with idiosyncratic timelines of modern and historical references.
A veiled thread of environmental disquiet is frequently bubbling under the surface unifying her work in to a present-day Chronicle as she perceives it.
Sue is a mixed media artist with print and drawing at the heart of her practice. She is a member of the Edinburgh Printmakers and exhibits throughout the UK.
