Susie Wilson has a longstanding connection with printmaking and a love of analogue ways of working, enjoying the playfulness and experimentation this brings.
She trained as a printmaker and for the past twenty years the book form has been central to her practice. Her work is frequently informed by archives, most recently Surgeons’ Hall Museum, and responding to the anatomical atlases and found in their collection.
Her work is held in many collections including the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art Archive, National Library of Scotland, University of Edinburgh and the Baltic.
She is a member of the collective bound:unbound, and is a professional member of Visual Arts Scotland. Recent awards include VACMA, 2023, Maureen Duke Educational Award (Society of Bookbinders, 2021).
Susie teaches at The University of Edinburgh, Centre for Open Learning and across departments at Edinburgh College of Art. She also teaches community-based projects across Edinburgh often in library settings.
