Terms and conditions
By registering as an artist on the POSt Art Trail you are expected to help in some way, however small, and are asked to agree the following:
- You are responsible for ensuring all details on the application form are correct. The POSt committee accepts no liability for any errors or omissions in our advertising or promotional material and reserve the right to exclude, edit or decline and content deemed to be inappropriate.
- The POSt committee will check with all artists final copy before going to print.
- Fees must be paid in full by the deadline. Failure to do so will result in your application being withdrawn.
- The POSt committee accepts no liability for damage to, or loss of, work, equipment or other property to or in the care of members or the visiting public or for injuries sustained by members, the visiting public or by any other person at the venue, whether exhibiting at their own venue or that of others.
- Participants must ensure that they have in place relevant public liability insurance. If you don’t already have this in place, consider artist membership of https://www.artistsunion.scot/ or Artists Information Co, www.a-n.co.uk, which includes insurance.
- Cancellation Guidelines: Should an artist need to cancel for their own reason should notify the POSt committee at the earliest opportunity so that best efforts can be made to correct the promotional materials or allow an alternative artist to take part.
- The POSt committee is not responsible for any losses resulting from cancellation of the event, though will seek to reimburse any fees wherever possible.
- Attend the full trail meetings and read the minutes of the meetings.
- Read (and where required, act on) the email communications from the Art Trail Committee.
- Attend the ‘Pack Night’ meeting and collect your Studio Welcome Pack or send a representative.
- Actively promote the event by distributing Trail Guides and flyers, as well as by word of mouth, your own email lists and social media presence.
- Open and supervise your exhibition on the dates and times as published in the Art Trail marketing materials.
- You may only sell your own artworks.
- You must not charge entry or for food and drink.
- Conform to basic Health & Safety requirements in relation to access, materials, equipment and health guidelines or legislation (e.g. Covid). This will be covered by your risk assessment.
- Ensure that directions to your venue are prominently displayed and use the venue banner supplied in the Studio Welcome Pack.
- Ensure that all signage is removed from your local public highways immediately after the last day of the Art Trail.
- Complete the evaluation form and provide feedback on visitor numbers to enable the organisers to monitor statistics and aid future trail improvements.
- Return recyclable materials from the Studio Welcome Pack such as banners after the Art Trail for use at future events.
